"On October 12 I took him to get neutered. Later that day I got the worst call."
via KDC0982"He had suffered a cardio pulmonary arrest waking up from anesthesia. They did CPR. He arrested again."
We cannot imagine a worse call to get and worse news to be delivered over and over. Hearing this only makes us appreciate his survival more than we already had, and it makes us even more grateful for everyone's hard work.

via KDC0982"He was in a coma with basic reflex responses. He fought so hard to live, the vet said. I chose to honor that spirit and continue his care."
We truly have the utmost respect to this amazing user for taking care of Gimli, and we are so glad that Gimli with his owner kept fighting and got through this difficult time together.

"He was in the premiere pet hospital in the state for a week and a half. It was really touch and go at first. The last few days he showed enough progress I could take him home. He was blind and barely able to walk."

"There’s been phases to Gimli’s recovery and he went through a very angry hissing phase for a while. My dad came to see him and got freaked out because Gimli had a fit (I was used to the fits at that point). "

"But Gimli made a lot of progress recently, getting his sight back seemed to help, and he’s a sweet little boy now. So dad came by to visit him again and was holding him. Dad was so happy Gimli was content to be held by him."

"Going through this with Gimli has had its ups and downs. He ate a WHOLE toy in December and I thought for sure he was going to die. But he threw up the whole thing 36 hours later thank goodness!
"And I appreciate all the little things. Like when he got his sight back! He still bonks into things because he doesn't have depth perception but he will look at me wide eyed and slowly come towards me.
"He has the CUTEST stiff legged walk. And when he makes a new gain like scratching his chin, I get so excited. Like Fezzik from princess bride "oh Gimli! You scratched your chin! That's excellent!!""
